ORO-STRESS 2026, 6th International Symposium on Broomrape in Sunflower & 1st Meeting on Sunflower Biotic and Abiotic Stress, June 15-18, 2026, Novi Sad, Serbia
The 2026 edition represents an important step forward. While maintaining a strong focus on broomrape research, the scope of the meeting has been expanded for the first time to include a wider range of biotic and abiotic stresses affecting sunflower production worldwide. Diseases, insect pests, drought, heat, soil degradation, and other environmental pressures increasingly occur simultaneously or sequentially, creating complex stress scenarios that threaten productivity, yield stability, and sustainability. This broader concept reflects the growing need for integrated approaches to sunflower resilience. Progress in breeding, genetics, crop protection, agronomy, stress physiology, and sustainable production systems is essential for addressing current and future challenges under changing climatic and agricultural conditions.
The abstracts collected in this volume demonstrate the diversity, quality, and international character of ongoing sunflower research. They present recent advances, innovative methodologies, and practical solutions developed by scientists and professionals from different disciplines and regions. It is expected that the exchange of knowledge and ideas during ORO-STRESS 2026 will strengthen scientific cooperation, encourage new partnerships, and support continued progress toward resilient and sustainable sunflower production.
